OXUS - Women Rocking the Pamirs
We are Tajik women – the first female tour guides in the Pamirs – leading adventurers through the breathtaking homeland we know by heart. Mothers at home, trailblazers on the peaks, we prove every day that no summit is too high for a woman to conquer, even in a traditional region bordering Afghanistan where old perceptions of women’s roles still linger.
OXUS is as much about empowering Tajik women as it is about preserving the fragile Pamir environment and sharing our deep passion for the mountains and the outdoors.
Our long-term vision To expand the presence of Tajik women in the workforce by creating real opportunities, letting their talents shine, and helping them discover strengths in fields once thought out of reach.
The transformative power of the trail Trekking across the rugged, awe-inspiring Pamir terrain – tackling distance, altitude, and the responsibility of guiding a group – builds unbreakable confidence and sharpens decision-making. Our certified mountain-guide training equips women with leadership skills they can carry anywhere, free to choose the paths that matter most to them.
